S K Patel College of Pharmaceutical Education & Research (SKPCER), Gujarat, a constituent college of Ganpat University is organising a national seminar on 'recent advances in stem cell research: promises and potentials, clinical and experimental aspects' on December 28, 2012 at the college. The seminar is sponsored by Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR), New Delhi.
The objective of the seminar is to expose and sensitise the new generation of the scientists, clinicians to learn about the newer vistas in the field of stem cell research and its potential clinical application in large number of diseases, to make use of the expertise and understand how to expand stem cells using special modulators so as to use the limited number of cells repeatedly.
The symposia will cover various themes which includes: basics of stem cell research and its role in drug discovery; therapeutic modalities of stem cell research; clinical potential and experimental set up for stem cell research; and ethical issues to embryonic stem cells.
Organisers of the seminar informed that the seminar will provide a base for scientists, clinicians, postgraduates and researchers from pharma industries.
